Frequently asked questions

I have a diagnosis, but my funding isn't set up yet. Can we start services?

So long as you have your diagnosis and have submitted your paperwork to MCFD/AFU, we can get started! Once you agree to services, I’ll help you set up your paperwork so we can get sessions started as soon as possible!

What is ABA?

Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is the science of how we learn, and how the environment around us affects the things we do. ABA is a science-driven, evidence-based practice that has been well researched and continues to be researched. Because of this, we know we have strategies that will be effective.

ABA is also data-driven. For any program we develop, we create data-taking and data-analysis systems to determine whether it is effective. This means we can quickly see what is happening and lets us pivot and adjust accordingly.

Because of our thorough analysis through observation and data-analysis, we can create highly individualized programs. Every program and strategy is tailored to the specific individual and the environments they are in.

What happens in March 2027 when the funding model changes?

There are many questions and no answers for both parents and service providers. When the funding system changes in March 2027, we will work together to find the best solution for both of us. Should major changes result in needing to put services on hold, I strive to provide as much notice as possible.

Do you provide virtual services?

Yes! While I primarily service the Tri-Cities, I can provide remote services via parent coaching, and/or virtual sessions for students and families that may benefit from it. We can schedule a free consult to discuss further whether this will be a good fit for your family and child! If we decide I'm not a good fit for you, I can provide additional recommendations to services that may be a better fit.

I have more questions, but they're not on the FAQ page, what do I do?

Send me an email! I’m more than happy to schedule a free consult for new clients! We can discuss further if I will be a good fit for your child and family!
